The Float Customer Care Representative (CCR) is responsible to accurately register patients for outpatient services and inpatient admissions and scheduling patients. The Float CCR is responsible for insurance verifications and co-pay collections. The Float CCR is knowledgeable about the organization to assist patients when needed. CMH Caregivers contribute to CMH success by providing exceptional service that is respectful, compassionate and customized to the individual’s needs by anticipating and exceeding expectations.
Job Requirements
Knowledge of/Skill/Ability to: Float CCR's are required to have strong communication, organizational and problem-solving skills; are able to flow between tasks; exercise independent judgment as needed and perform assigned duties in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. A working knowledge of general office equipment including; computer, fax, scanner, and multi-line phone system. Medical terminology is preferred. Ability to type with accuracy and minimal error including 10 key. Float CCR's are expected to work in CMH clinics as well as in the hospital. CMH Caregivers have patience; attentiveness; clear communication skills; excellent time management skills and a calming presence. Float CCR's must have attention to detail and be able to accurately perform data entry.
License/Certification
None
Education and/or Experience
High School diploma or equivalent experience/education. Medical terminology knowledge preferred and experience in healthcare field preferred.
Physical Demands and Work Environment Conditions / ADA Compliance
Position involves standing, walking, stopping, and occasional carrying and lifting or lightweight materials (up to 20 pounds). May be required to sit for extended periods of time. Requires visual acuity and depth perception to recognize words and numbers; and hand and finger dexterity and hand/eye coordination to use a computer keyboard and common office equipment. Potential for contact with blood, body fluids or tissues.
