Customer Service Job Description
As Customer Service, you are the first and last face of Rainbow Blossom that our customers will see. Providing customer service is the core of what your position is about. You will be responsible for helping customers find they items they are looking for and taking care of their needs. You will be processing customer purchases quickly and accurately, while providing excellent customer service. You will also be responsible for ensuring products gets stocked efficiently and accurately to the shelf for our customers to purchase.
This position reports directly to the department manager you are scheduled to with oversight from the Store Manager. This is either a full-time or part-time position, depending on the needs of the Store Manager. If full-time, this position is not to exceed 40 hours each week or if a part-time position, this position is not to exceed 30 hours per week.

Responsibilities
- Provide excellent customer service to our customers, by assisting them in finding the items they need and completing customer requests.
- Check out customer purchases in an efficient and friendly manner, while maintaining a clean and orderly register.
- Handle all cash in a safe and accurate manner. Complete all register paperwork, as you process your transaction, in order to stay organized and accurate at all times.
- Call for cashier backup, as needed, to ensure customers are checked out quickly.
- Follow the return policy when completing returns for customers.
- Stock products to the shelf quickly and accurately. Ensure that products are stocked in the correct location and are priced.
- Rotate and verify dates on product as you stock it to ensure it hasn't expired.
- Follow all company policies and procedures.
- Perform any tasks assigned by the Store Manager or your direct manager.
- Perform cleaning tasks, as assigned, in order to maintain clean shelves, coolers, counters, and bins. Clean up spills and messes as they are found.
This list of job responsibilities is considered a general outline of the position. This position is expected to do whatever it takes to get the job done to ensure the successful operation of the store and of Rainbow Blossom.
This position will be required to lift up to 20 pounds often and 50 pounds rarely. This position will often be indoors in a climate-controlled environment, with occasional outdoor exposure, which could consist of hot and cold temperatures as well as potential exposure to wind and precipitation. This position will be expected to work occasionally in a cooler and freezer. This position will be expected to stand, twist and walk often, to sit and squat or kneel occasionally, and to climb rarely.
Person-In-Charge
All PICs have the ability to authorize no-receipt returns at the register valued at $49.99 and below for exchange or in-store credit.
All PICs have the potential to be asked to attend a food service manager's certificate training class. It is required to have at least one person who is food service trained on staff at all times.
All PICs are required to have an alarm code and access to the store safe.
All PICs are responsible for monitoring the sales floor to ensure staff are staying productive.
The designated PIC will do the above by utilizing the daily schedule and daily task sheets provided by the Store Manager to ensure staff are staying on track with their assigned duties. The designated PIC is responsible for ensuring all assigned tasks are completed by the assigned staff member. The designated PIC can assign any task to any scheduled employee, as the need arises.
The designated PIC is responsible for scheduling daily breaks and ensuring staff members are able to take their break. This may include reaching out to department managers or other departments' staff for relief during those times.
The designated PIC is responsible for assisting in problems that arise on the floor. They are the go-to person on the floor, before going to the manager. Fielding questions and problem solving are a key part of this position in keeping operations running smoothly.
The designated PIC will handle any staffing issues as they arise, including but not limited to calling and/or messaging staff in the event of a call out or other staffing issues.
The designated PIC is responsible for maintaining safety practices and ensuring they are being followed.
The designated PIC will report and communicate to the manager directly, including but not limited to pertinent staffing, operations, product, and/or customer issues.
The designated PIC will leave communication for the next shifts designated PIC or communicate to them directly.
If the designated PIC is opening, they are responsible for counting down the safe and drawers and getting the registers ready for operation. If the designated PIC is closing, they are responsible for counting the safe and each drawer down for the night.
