Founded in 1976, EKI manufactures and distributes chemicals used in a wide variety of
laboratories and industry.
Ensure timely, friendly, and exceptional communication with customers, prospects, and specifiers/end-users. Following the established policies and procedures, accurately enter customer orders, answer inquiries about products, availability, and application information.
- Provide superior customer service by going above and beyond the customer’s expectations. This will include getting back to them in a timely fashion, being professional, and always making sure they are satisfied before ending the phone or e-mail conversation
- Answer over the phone and e-mail inquiries regarding price and availability of products
- Form and maintain good relationships with internal customers at all levels of the organization
- Provide customers with product information to assist with determining appropriate product to purchase
- Answer basic technical questions on product make-up and application
- Enter orders accurately the same day as received
- Monitor fulfillment and shipment of the order to ensure that customer is always fully aware of order status
- Stay informed of information on pricing, availability, and the process to locate them in the system
- Ensure customers' issues are resolved in a timely manner
- Develop customer service initiatives to improve customer satisfaction
- Keep accurate and well-organized records and necessary documentation
- Ability to schedule pickups/deliveries and enter invoices with accuracy into the ERP system
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- Excellent verbal and written skills, telephone skills required
- Positive attitude and willingness to provide high level customer support to customers and guests
- Must possess a very strong aptitude to learn new processes and procedures
- Demonstrate basic math skills to convert unit of measure from imperial to metric based on customer needs (utilizing ERP system)
- Must have a high level of attention to detail and can retain and enter in specific information from multiple accounts with accuracy
- Must be able to think “outside of the box” and possess creative thinking skills
- Must be able to act with a “sense of urgency” when managing customer accounts.
- The ability to problem solve and offer solutions
- Advanced written and verbal communication skills (bilingual a plus)
- Computer skills in Excel and Word required. Aptitude to learn new software programs required
- G Suite experience a plus
