Job Description:
UTC Ice Sports Center is a great place for an experienced or first-time job seeker looking to build an exciting career. We are looking for a highly motivated individual with an outgoing personality to work in a dynamic, fun, and energetic environment.
Our Pro Shop Representatives are responsible for daily oversight and promotion of rink programs and merchandise sales. You are involved in membership and reservation management, inventory maintenance, and most importantly, are the face of the facility to customers of all ages. You are the first and last person customers interact with at UTC Ice and are responsible for creating a welcoming and structured environment for skaters to return to again and again.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Energetic and enthusiastic personality – conversant with strangers, smiles, welcoming body language.
- Outgoing, friendly individuals who consistently deliver superior customer service.
- Multitasking and time management skills.
- Takes and follows directions well, interested in learning.
- Able to communicate clearly and effectively with customers of various ages, with the ability to handle guest inquiries and resolve conflicts.
- Able to be both a team player and work independently.
- Skating experience and interest in skating are encouraged but not required.
- Must be able to stand, bend, kneel, grasp, reach, push/pull, walk, squat, and lift 25-50 lbs on an intermittent basis during scheduled shifts.
- Must be available during the fall and winter holiday season.
- Must possess sound judgment, be patient, and love being around people!
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide a welcoming experience for regular and new customers alike.
- Promote daily and seasonal rink programs with thorough knowledge of programs in all departments, including figure skating, youth and adult hockey, public sessions, birthday parties, private rentals, and more.
- Daily ticket, membership, and merchandise sales using point of sales and online membership management systems.
- Responsible for in-person, phone, email, and interdepartmental communication. Other administrative work includes the use of Microsoft Office Suite and physical recordkeeping systems.
- Manage and coordinate strict timelines while providing a positive professional attitude with a high level of energy and fun.
- In addition to the essential duties stated above, the ability to handle stress and interact effectively with others, including guests and coworkers, are essential functions of the job.
Expected hours: 15-30, dependent upon availability and season
Starting at $16.85, with opportunities for growth
This position requires Saturday and Sunday shifts
Our ideal candidate is available for early morning (6 a.m.) shifts once training is complete
