Job Overview:
The Personal Lines Billing Clerk is responsible for managing and processing billing transactions for CIG Personal and Commercial Lines policies, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and excellent customer service. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with external customers and internal team members.
Utilizing the Company’s automated systems, this position will respond to customers by processing payments and providing billing status for policies. Calls of a complex or technical nature may need to be referred to a Lead, Supervisor, appropriate department or business function for assistance and resolution.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Respond to billing inquiries from customers, providing clear and accurate information.
- Ensure customers understand billing statements and payment options.
- Assist customers with payment processing and billing inquiries, including setting up payment plans and managing their billing accounts.
- Maintain confidentiality and security of clients’ financial information.
- Maintain accurate documentation of all customer inquiries and follow-up actions by noting CIG systems according to company processes and procedures.
- Handle complaints and work towards resolving any billing-related issues in a professional manner.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required; an associate or bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field is preferred.
- At least 1-2 years of experience in billing, accounting, or a similar role, preferably within the insurance industry.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
- Proficient in the use of billing system software and Microsoft Office.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex billing information clearly to clients.
- Customer-oriented mindset with a strong commitment to providing excellent service.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Hourly payrate: $20.00
The salary range listed here has been provided to comply with local regulations and represents a potential base salary range for this role. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range above or below, depending on experience and location. We look at compensation for each individual and base our offer on your unique qualifications, experience, and expected contributions. This position may also be eligible for other types of compensation in addition to base salary, such as benefits and bonus programs.
