POSITION SUMMARY:
Be part of a team in the manufacturing and assembly of aluminum trailers to meet productivity goals without compromising safety or quality. Efficiently run cut station to build trailer frame kits for welding line.
FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Read blueprints, work orders, and ensure trailer is built according to specifications.
Obtain raw materials from Material Handlers – may cut material according to the cut list.
Notify supervisor of any mechanical or material issues
Maintaining quality, productivity, cost, safety, and morale to achieve positive results.
Reads and follows blueprints and work orders ensuring a quality product that meetscustomer demands; performswork as assignedby linesupervisor.
Obtains raw materials from Material Handlers. Cut material in accordance with specifications on the cutlist.
Notifies supervisor of any mechanical or material issues including but not limited to, defects in material,damage to the trailer, and deviationsfrom work order.
Ensures that finishedproduct meets quality expectations. Strives for thehighest level of quality and understandstheneed for continuous improvement; supports the concept of “good enough is nevergood enough.”
Maintains a clean and safe work area; worksto minimizescrap, placesunused materialback in appropriatearea,and disposes of wasteappropriately.
Follows all safetyprocedures,wears appropriate personalprotective equipment (PPE), and reports any accidents or nearmisses to supervisorimmediately. Cut resistant gloves, double eye protection and hearing protection required.
Performs other relatedduties and assignments as required.
DESIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
One year of hands-on experience working with a variety of power tools with expert chop/miter saw cutting skills and reading a tape measure.
Previous experience working in manufacturing, or construction is helpful, however, on-the-job training may be provided.
