Cyber security specialist - ConsultNet

Pay: $50-55/hr

Prefer hybrid. Prefer in Mentor, Berea, Detroit or Charlotte in that order.

Permanent range: $100k

Prefer 3-month contract to hire

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Implement vulnerability assessments and configure audits of operating systems, web servers, and databases.
• Perform research, testing, evaluation, and deployment of security technology and procedures.
• Assist in developing and implementing information security standards, guidelines, and procedures.
• Keep current with new intrusion methods and develop protection plans.
• Configure and manage anti-virus systems and consoles and conduct software upgrades.
• Assist in the creation and documentation of Cyber Security Policy and conduct related training.
• Assist with Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Architecture, Administration, Testing and Documentation.
• Understand OWASP testing methodology, automation, PowerShell, Python, IDS/IPS systems, Burp Suite, Nmap, Nessus, Qualys, Metasploit, etc.
• Manage relationships and coordinate with clients and service providers.
• Have knowledge and experience with enterprise-class systems from help desk level support to systems administration, networking, etc.

Skills and Competencies:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, telecommunications, computer engineering, or any related field.
• Experience: Minimum 5 years with a degree, 7 years without a degree.
• Registrations: CompTIA Security, CCENT, CCNA, CCNA-Security, MTA – Windows Server
• Skills: Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written). Must be able to communicate with both management and non-management associates.
