Responsibilities
We are hiring a Cyber Ssytems Engineer for a part time role that can be worked remotely.
Program Overview:
Peraton is the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) for the deployed and operational Enterprise Services (ES) systems. Peraton designed, installed, tested, and provided factory-based O&M support to the current deployed ES systems at government sites. We support site deployments with a representation of the systems on government-furnished equipment (GFE) and Peraton-owned hardware in our factory test environment at 12975 Worldgate Drive, Herndon, VA. Peraton’s has supported this customer for more than 10 years.
What you'll do:
- Assist the Program Manager (PM) in developing and maintaining information systems security documentation and in sustaining configuration control of the systems and application software.
- This documentation includes creation and implementation of information systems security policies as listed in a DFARS compliance matrix. Work to ensure the information system/network is used securely, operated, maintained, sanitized and disposed of in accordance with security policies.
- Be familiar with Department of Defense policies/guidance concerning Intelligence Community Directive (ICD 503), and policies governing Industrial Security (NISPOM).
- Assists with integrated, dynamic cyber defense, coordinates and maintains security toolsets to support organizations’ continuous monitoring and ongoing authorization programs.
- Maintain a framework by which cyber risk can be measured and quantified in the marketplace.
- Determines security requirements by evaluating business strategies and requirements; researching information security standards; conducting system security and vulnerability analyses and risk assessments; studying architecture/platform; identifying integration issues; preparing cost estimates.
- Other areas of responsibilities include detecting, diagnosing, and resolving problems associated with server hardware and/or application software, and install, configure and monitor Operating Systems (OS) and applications for both Windows and Linux platforms.
- Provide support of the network infrastructure, including server and workstation installation, troubleshooting, network cabling, TCP/IP protocols including sub-netting, routing, domain name services, network configuration and management.
- Contribute to the creation/maintenance of the overall information system management plan.
Qualifications
What you'll need:
- Minimum of 8 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 6 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 3 years with PhD, 12 years of applicable experience will be acceptable in lieu of degree.
- Active TS/SCI
Desired experience:
- COMPTIA Security+
- Familarity with VMWARE & CISCO IOS
- Administration of Linux & Windows Servers
