Hourly Rate: $27.68 - $42.90

Job Overview:

The Cytologist is responsible for participating in specialized and complex technical tasks involved in the processing and screening of cytological specimens to detect evidence of cancer or other pathological conditions. The role ensures accurate and efficient testing of patient specimens, contributing to the quality of patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Screen and analyze slides of clinical specimens (both gynecologic and non-gynecologic) to detect cancer or other pathological conditions.
• Mark abnormalities, render diagnoses, and determine cases requiring quality control or further review by a pathologist.
• Conduct rapid on-site evaluation (ROSE) using a tele-pathology system for the collection, processing, and immediate evaluation of Fine Needle Aspirations (FNA).
• Perform various Quality Control and Quality Assurance procedures to ensure compliance with internal and external regulations and protocols.
• Collaborate with pathologists and healthcare professionals to provide accurate diagnostic results.

Qualifications:

• ASCP Cytotechnologist Certification - Required
• Bachelor's Degree in a related field - Required
• Completion of an accredited cytology program - Required
