D23: The Official Disney Fan Club was established to bring Disney fans closer to the “magic” through one-of-a-kind experiences and special events, quarterly publications, exclusive online content, and opportunities to meet others who share the same affection for Disney, 365 days a year! Ready to get started?
The selected candidate will report to the Senior Manager, D23 Creative & Programming. We are looking for someone who will work full time between the approximate dates of January 2025 - June 2025.
What You Will Do
The D23 Event Marketing Intern will have a one-of-a-kind opportunity to work directly with the team who produces and markets D23 events. You will have the outstanding opportunity to contribute to and understand:
+ Communications: Assist in drafting and researching articles, event communications and recaps. Build presentations for both internal and external functions. Help in crafting, setting up, and fulfilling event surveys.
+ Project Management: Coordinate team meetings and agendas, managing master event calendar, track production landmarks, and regularly update event documents based on team input.
+ Event Support: From assisting with brainstorming and master planning to creating run-of-show documents, to on-site operations such as interacting with guests and coordinating select areas of operation (e.g., check-in.)
Required Qualifications & Skills
+ Ability to work a flexible event schedule, including nights, weekends and holidays as needed.
+ Knowledge and genuine interest in the full portfolio of The Walt Disney Company’s past, present and future including films, animation, television and theme parks.
+ Capability to work on multiple projects in a positive, pro-active manner.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication, organization and follow- through skills
+ Attention to detail and ability to learn quickly and adapt to a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.
+ Demonstrated success partnering with teams and working independently with minimal direction, prioritizing and meeting deadlines.
+ Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
+ Extremely comfortable working in Google Suite, Keynote, designing quality, in-depth presentations.
+ Present a professional business image of excellence through professional dress, written and oral presentations
Preferred Qualifications
+ Familiar with D23: The Official Disney Fan Club, and deep knowledge of Disney’s history, brands, processes and culture
+ Previously completed an internship within the entertainment industry or 1-3 years of experience working in hospitality, event planning, project/program management or marketing/membership
+ Advanced writing and editing experience
+ Knowledge of digital online tools such as WordPress
+ Design, event, and production experience
Education
+ Be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months at time of application posting OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship.
+ A junior, senior or recent graduate with a major or previous coursework in Event Hospitality Management, Communications, Marketing or a related field
Eligibility Requirements & Program Information
Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all of the below requirements:
+ Be at least 18 years of age
+ Have not completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program.
+ Possess unrestricted work authorization
Additional Information
+ Candidate should be available to work full time hours (approximately 40 hours per week) for the duration of the internship
+ Able to provide own housing and transportation to and from work in the Glendale, CA area
