We are hiring a Dairy Nutrition Sales Professional to join our eastern dairy team. This opportunity represents an excellent chance to work in the progressive New York dairy market. This role has a focus on consulting with our Dairy Producers in achieving improved production/profitability in their operations. You will be part of a dynamic team that brings expertise to their customers through a consultative selling approach.
This is a remote (virtual) field-based sales position however candidates must be located in the territory. Ideal candidate location is Wyoming Country or the Finger Lakes region of New York.
Responsibilities include:
• Develop strategies to increase our dairy market share by consulting directly on farm with key dairy producers on their nutritional needs
• Demonstrate strategic and tactical planning skills necessary to provide solutions-based selling of value-add technologies.
• Maintain a high level of proficiency and competency in dairy nutrition and production management.
• Work closely with the eastern dairy team in providing education and solutions for dairy producers.
• Work both individually and as part of a team, helping producers to mutually benefit by providing the right recommendations for nutrition and management practices.
• Provide feedback on market intelligence and service activities
Required Experience-Education:
• Bachelor's degree in Animal Science or other related agriculture fields preferred. Candidates without a degree but have related experience may be considered.
• A minimum of 2 years' experience in sales with an animal science/nutrition emphasis, dairy focus (adult cow), and a proven track record of growing and maintaining a customer base strongly desired
• Solid understanding of dairy husbandry, current management practices, and nutritional guidelines.
• 10-20% overnight travel depending upon candidate location
• Must have basic command of adult cow dairy nutrition and management recommendations in the market.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, focus, along with strong organization and time management skills.
• Success in this position requires cold calling, high internal drive, a natural ability for relationship building, public speaking aptitude, and leadership in a team environment.
This is a sales role that is compensated with a target mix of base salary plus commission. Approximate base salary range is low to mid 70K - $110,000 DOE. Commission is driven by individual performance
