Job Description Summary

The PennSIVE Center, a group of quantitative experts specializing in imaging data science, is seeking to recruit a neuroimaging data analyst. Data analysts play a central role in large-scale projects that seek to understand the healthy brain and neurological and psychiatric diseases. Within these projects, they work in a team environment collaborating closely with a diverse, multidisciplinary group of faculty and trainees from biostatistics, psychiatry, neurology, radiology, and engineering. Primary responsibilities include management, processing, and analysis of high-dimensional imaging data. Additional responsibilities will be assigned based on the successful candidate's skills and interests. All analysts additionally lead independent projects where they write first-author manuscripts.

Job Description


Job Responsibilities



+ Automated image analysis pipeline development and management. This involves computer programming to process images


+ Manual segmentation analysis of magnetic resonance imaging. This involves manually delineating structures in images by drawing


+ Helping draft abstracts and manuscripts as well as generating results, tables and figures


+ Creating slides using LaTeX and PowerPoint


+ Run simulation studies


+ Other duties and responsibilities as assigned





Qualifications



+ Bachelor's degree with major in Psychology, Statistics, Computer Science or related field, and 2-3 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.


+ Experience in biomedical or psychological research or data management preferred.


+ Excellent written and oral communication skills.


+ Experience with linux/unix/bash scripting is preferred; extensive knowledge of tools useful in manipulating and converting data; facility with numbers and meticulous attention to detail; experience with statistics and statistical programming (R preferred); programming experience with one or more general-purpose programming languages preferred; capacity for learning new technical skills independently; experience with neuroimaging tools (SPM, AFNI, FSL) preferred.
