General Job Summary
Under the general direction of the Manager, Data Team, or designee, and in accordance with good business practices and established procedures, the Data Analyst (DA) will gather, manage, analyze, and visualize report data from internal and external industry systems to evaluate and trend performance and process metrics using BI systems.
Additionally, the Data Analyst, will interact with internal and external clients to understand their data visualization needs, produce creative solutions, and bring expertise in explaining relationships and trends within the data to customers, meeting the customer at their level of data awareness.
Position may require travel to Infinite Legacy regional offices.
Essential Job Functions
- Interprets and executes internal and external data project requests. Presents report data in PowerBI in a meaningful way, accessible and clear for customers with and without technical expertise.
- Assesses the best report data model based on scope, access to data, and where the data resides (i.e., exists on database vs. manual reports).
- Implements best practices in report management and roll out through PowerBI.
- Educates technical and non-technical customers on how to appropriately use and interpret PowerBI product.
- Validates and analyzes various data, metrics, and information via statistical/quality tools.
- Meets with internal and external stakeholders to determine data needs while using business logic to ask questions and make suggestions for report/product that were not necessarily apparent to the customer.
- Assists with the tracking of organizational metrics to support the success of the organization’s strategic efforts.
- Develops and maintains specialized databases and systems for recording and tracking appropriate data and statistical information.
- Organizes appropriate resources, organizational priorities and manages databases as related to data activities.
- All other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- BA or BS degree required in a related field (social science, computer science, healthcare, etc.)
- Proficient in developing Power BI solutions, reports, and dashboards.
- Proficient with data modeling and querying (PowerQuery, DAX, SQL, etc.).
- Ability to determine informational needs, to collect and analyze data, and to devise and develop statistical analyses and reports and/or projections.
- Strong interpersonal skills to communicate and present effectively to technical and non-technical customers.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology highly desired.
- Previous experience in organ/tissue procurement organization highly desired.
- Ability to travel to local, regional and national conferences.
Preferences
- Master’s degree. Within a healthcare field a plus.
- Experience with statistical analysis software (Stata, SAS, or SPSS).
- Familiarity with medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Previous experience in an organ/tissue procurement organization.
Working Conditions:
This position requires consistent availability, travel, and certain physical, language, and communication abilities, including:
- Manual dexterity sufficient to operate telephones and computers.
- Vision correctable to 20/20 to read electronic medical charts and computer screens. Frequent and prolonged use of computer screen may produce visual fatigue.
- Possible mental fatigue and stress associated with emergencies and management issues.
- Ability to accurately communicate, converse, and exchange information in English over the telephone and in person.
- Sitting for extended periods of time.
- Frequent prolonged use of computer screen may produce visual fatigue.
- Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other devices and objects.
- Computer literacy in a Microsoft Windows environment and demonstrated competency in the use of Microsoft Office software programs.
- Works in normal office environment where there are no physical discomforts due to temperatures, noise, dust, etc.
- Work requires attention to detail, flexibility in assignment changes, and meeting deadlines that may produce mental fatigue.
- This is a level 3 Blood-borne Pathogen Exposure position. Employees have low to no exposure to Blood-borne Pathogens and no exposure to TB. Employees do not visit hospitals.
