HJF is seeking a Data Analyst II to provide analytic support to epidemiologists, biostatisticians and scientists and ensure data quality and data integrity.
This position will be in support of The Center for Rehabilitation Sciences Research (CRSR), at Uniformed Services University in Bethesda, Maryland.
Note: This position requires U.S. Citizenship.
The Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine (HJF) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing military medicine. We serve military, medical, academic and government clients by administering, managing, and supporting preeminent scientific programs that benefit members of the armed forces and civilians alike. Since its founding in 1983, HJF has served as a vital link between the military medical community and its federal and private partners. HJF's support and administrative capabilities allow military medical researchers and clinicians to maintain their scientific focus and accomplish their research goals.
Responsibilities:- Imports, cleans, transforms, validates and/or model data with the purpose of understanding or making conclusions from the data for decision making and public health purposes.
- Has demonstrated experience using statistical modeling (e.g., linear / logistic regression, survival models, count models, etc.) with study data or real-world evidence.
- Assists in making data accessible to epidemiologists, scientists, physicians, programmers and other end users. Experience with Military Health System Information Portal data is a plus.
- Tests data to identify data integrity issues, making recommendations and coordinating with the data manager to plan solutions.
- Troubleshoots problems concerning database records and communicate with co-workers and end users of the system. Makes recommendations and coordinates with the data manager to plan solutions.
- Participates in data-related projects, including but not limited to data normalization, data maintenance, data research, data standardization, data product development, and data quality assurance.
- May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor. This may include attendance of and participation in required training for role.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree Required; Master’s Degree Preferred
- Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience required.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge and application of data cleansing and migration techniques. Experience with the Military Health System Data Repository or other military data systems is a plus.
- Demonstrated analytical skills and passion for analyzing data.
- Experience with data modeling.
- Must have practical experience beyond training with SAS. Use and application of SAS Macros is a plus.
- General knowledge of other statistical software (e.g., R, Python, Stata).
- Ability to investigate data issues and participate in remediation activities.
- Statistical and data analysis skills are a must to assist gathering and solving data quality issues.
- Ability to review detailed documents to validate data in operating systems.
- Experience preparing publication ready methods and results following analysis.
- Familiarity with ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding. Experience with real-world data from electronic health records is a plus.
- US Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a T3/Secret Clearance.
Work Environment
- Set in an Office environment.
