About the Job
San Mateo County Health is seeking a well-qualified individual for the position of Data Analyst Program Coordinator I-Public Health to provide administrative and technical support for the Communicable Disease Control Program, coordinate activities and events of the assigned program with other County departments, community-based organizations and/or committees; provide highly responsible administrative staff assistance to assigned management staff, board or commission; and perform related work as required.

Primary responsibilities will include:
- Develop familiarity/expertise in the systems we use and may use down the line (e.g., CalREDIE, CalCONNECT, REDCap, Excel, etc.).
- Serve as the first point of contact for questions about these systems, attend relevant calls/webinars, summarize updates, train/educate the team on process changes.
- Extract data from various systems and develop processes for data extracts.
- Develop and run reports using various systems.
- Support and perform targeted data cleaning efforts to support surveillance efforts and exposure/outbreak response.
- Develop workflows and provide feedback to help improve data quality.
- Perform data analysis and contribute to reports and write-ups.
- Collaborate with the Epidemiology team and make suggestions on process improvements.
- Support Quality Assurance efforts.
- Experience performing data extraction from various systems.
- Experience with performing targeted data cleaning efforts to support surveillance efforts and exposure/outbreak response.
- Experience with data analysis.
- Ability to develop and run reports from various systems.
- Demonstrated advanced skill and understanding of Excel.
- Ability to work independently.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to establish, maintain, and foster positive and effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
- Bachelor’s degree in public or business administration, management or a related field such as business intelligence, epidemiology, statistics, biostatistics, computer science, public health, quality assurance, data science is preferred but not required.
