About the Job
Provide analytics and data science support for marketing projects requiring data querying and extraction, analysis and mining, model building and deployment, and reporting of findings. Projects will support corporate initiatives for client acquisition and resource optimization, through analytics and predictive models conducted on consumers and financial advisors.
Responsibilities:What you will do:
- Extracts/joins/prepares structured data on consumers and financial advisors, using multiple databases.
- Uses descriptive analytics and data mining techniques to uncover patterns and trends.
- Develops algorithms and predictive models for propensity scoring.
- Maintains data to measure results, and updates statistical models to enhance performance and scoring output.
- Prepares key metrics and reports in Excel, in dashboard form, and in full presentation (PowerPoint) form.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Complies with all policies and standards.
- Incoming or current graduate student, obtaining a Masters degree in Data Science, Analytics, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Quantitative Economics, or a related field
- Strong working knowledge of SQL, R and/or Python.
- Advanced user of Excel, Intermediate user of PowerPoint and Word.
Prefer experience using SQL in a server based environment, such as with PL/SQL Developer, Oracle Developer, or MS SQL Server Management Studio.
Statistical knowledge and use (via previous or upcoming coursework) with supervised and unsupervised learning and model development, such as logistic and multinomial regression, classification, time series, clustering, tree-based models, random forests and ensemble methods, etc.
Work Setting/Position Demands:
- Works in an office setting and remains in a stationary position for long periods of time while working at a desk, on a computer or with other standard office equipment, or while in meetings.
- Requires the ability to verbally communicate and exchange accurate information to customers and associates on a regular basis.
- Requires visual acuity to read and interpret a variety of correspondence, procedures, reports and forms via paper and electronic documents, visual inspection involving small defects; small parts, and/or operation of machinery (including inspection); using measurement devices continuously. Visual acuity is required to determine accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of work assigned.
- Requires the ability to prepare written correspondence, reports and forms using prescribed formats and conforming to rules of punctuation, grammar, diction, and style on a regular basis.
- Requires the ability to apply principles of logical thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Performs substantial movement of wrists, hands, and fingers for continuous computer work.
- Extended hours required during peak workloads or special projects/events.
