The BI Data Architect is responsible for leading data management and overall BI architecture for Maximus UK. Contribute to the definition of BI Roadmaps for each business unit, highlighting opportunities for additional value from architecture and data.
Data Management
• Manage delivery and maintenance of an effective data lake / warehouse platform, data pipelines and analytical databases across MAXIMUS UK
• Lead data architecture, data modelling and data load / transformation design
• Lead data lake / data warehouse development using Azure BI / Analytics platform, and publishing of data within reporting / analytical platforms
• Understand the operational and master data sources available, and work with data suppliers, owners and stewards to source and integrate data required to meet BI requirements.
• Support effective Data Governance and ensuring data quality, security, availability and timeliness
• Continually develop best practice and increase BI effectiveness
BI Architecture
• Develop technical relationships with internal and external clients, and data suppliers and maintain an appropriate understanding of business processes, application systems and data.
• Partner with IT colleagues on the definition, delivery and maintenance of BI infrastructure and platforms including reporting & analytical toolsets
• Identify technical opportunities translating these into strategies to provide solutions to drive BI effectiveness
• Develop a high-level future state vision and delivery roadmap for BI architecture and data management Organisational values

Qualifications and/or Experience
• Educated to degree level in relevant subject or equivalent level qualification or significant experience of working at a similar level in specialist area
• 5+ years technical BI data management experience or similar level in BI leadership
• Comprehensive knowledge of data management, visualisation and analytics platforms
• Extensive ETL development project experience utilizing Microsoft Azure enterprise BI stack
• Understanding of Azure Data Lake and analytics components including as Data Bricks / Python, Data Factory, Synapse and Analysis Services
• Track record delivering strategic data management solutions
• Experience of analysis of complex data sets and design of integrated data models / data flows
• Experienced in managing teams in Agile environments

• Ability to lead development and delivery of end-to-end data management solutions
• Excellent collaborator, bringing together IT / BI teams internally and externally to deliver projects
• The ability to clearly articulate complex technical solutions to non-specialist audiences
• Experience of creating and giving presentations to a varied group of internal and external stakeholders
• Comfortable in empowering and motivating individuals and teams
• Strong leadership and communication skills with a strong sense of prioritisation and time management
• Strong analytical skills set with an ability to think strategically, challenge the status quo, and provide recommendations
