About the Opportunity:This is a hybrid role reporting to the office 2 days/week (Reston, VA or Malvern, PA)
Are you seeking to join an innovative team in an exciting Higher Education technology firm? If you are also passionate about data analytics and have an interest to build a technical expertise in SQL, Snowflake, ETL, Tableau, and PowerBI, then joining Ellucian as a Data Architect could be the right fit for you!
Where you will make an impact
- Migrate and curate data assets from various operational systems, including Salesforce, Gainsight, ServiceNow, etc., into the corporate data lake using Informatica and/or other ingestion tools.
- Build automated reporting at scale using SQL, Tableau, and PowerBI to enable effective analysis, monitoring, and strategic decision-making across multiple business lines.
- Work collaboratively and iteratively with stakeholders on design, development, testing, implementation, and evaluation of data assets, reporting tools and business process changes to improve outcomes and drive better performance transparency.
- Identify reporting processes that are inefficient and create/change processes that will lead to measurable gains in data quality and processing time.
- Become subject matter expert in the design, development, and continuous improvement of actionable metrics, dashboards, and analytics that drive business decisions in an evolving organization.
What you will bring
- 4 or more years of business analysis leveraging Tableau, Microsoft Excel, SQL Queries, Relational Databases
- 4 or more years of experience with data discovery/business intelligence tools such as Tableau, PowerBI, Google Analytics, QlikView, SAP BusinessObjects, etc.
- Demonstrated experience fulfilling ad-hoc data requests by querying enterprise size databases and other sources
- Demonstrated experience in synthesizing operational and financial Key Performance Indicators in simple business terms and turn conclusions into stories that operators can understand and respond to
- Practical experience drawing conclusions from quantitative and qualitative analysis, to develop business solutions
- Knowledge of statistical methods and techniques, and complex data analyses a plus (data mining, regression analysis, decision trees)
- Structured thinker with a high level of attention to detail and organizational skills
- Results and execution oriented with a bias towards thoughtful action; flexible and collaborative
- Creative problem solver with a healthy mix of intellectual agility and curiosity
- Talent for storytelling through qualitative and quantitative data analytics
- Demonstrated experience with communication & presentation skills, possessing the ability to interface with audiences of all levels throughout the organization
- Foundational Excel and Power Point skills
- Demonstrated experience with Informatica or similar ETL tools a plus
