We're seeking a skilled Data Engineer to join our team and help drive data-informed decision-making across our organization and portfolio companies. This position will focus on designing and implementing data pipelines, ensuring data quality, and supporting our AI and analytics initiatives in the healthcare sector.
Responsibilities
Data Pipeline Development: Design, build, and maintain efficient, scalable data pipelines to ingest, process, and store large volumes of healthcare data.
Data Modeling: Create and optimize data models to support analytics and machine learning applications.
Workflow Management: Implement robust solutions for data analytics workflows using Apache Airflow, ensuring that all data operations are automated and optimized for scale and speed.
Data Quality and Governance: Monitor system performance, implement improvements, and troubleshoot issues, ensuring the architecture supports emerging data analysis needs.
Big Data Technologies: Utilize big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) to process and analyze large-scale healthcare datasets.
AWS Cloud Services Integration: Leverage various AWS technologies (e.g., S3, EC2, RDS, Redshift) to build secure and scalable data platforms.
Data Security: Ensure data security and privacy in compliance with HIPAA and other relevant healthcare regulations.
Collaboration: Work closely with data scientists, ML engineers, and software developers to support data-driven decision-making and AI model development.
Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
3+ years of experience in data engineering or a similar role.
Expertise in managing, implementing, and optimizing Apache Airflow.
Fluent in SQL as well as working familiarity with a variety of databases.
Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, Hive).
Proficiency in at least one modern programming language, preferably proficient with Python.
Familiarity with cloud platforms, preferably AWS (e.g., Redshift, S3, EMR).
Experience with data modeling, ETL/ELT design, and workflow management tools.
Strong analytical skills associated with working on unstructured datasets.
Knowledge of healthcare data standards (e.g., HL7, FHIR) is a plus.
Understanding of data privacy and security best practices, especially in healthcare.
Knowledge of and experience with Python
Knowledge of and experience with Restful/SOAP API
Experience with AWS Services (Bedrock, CICD) or equivalent DE
Knowledge of and experience with Data Lakes and Data Warehousing
Knowledge of and experience with SQL query
