Job: Data Engineer/Data Scientist
Location: 100% remote from EST
Duration: 6 month contract, open to extensions
The Operations Quality Digital Strategy and Innovation (QDS&I) team is at the forefront of driving the organization’s digital transformation. We leverage cutting-edge digital tools, automation, AI and generative AI to achieve end-to-end transformation across multiple business domains.
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Data Scientist/Data Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with big data and strong technical expertise in developing data pipelines, managing databases, and creating data products. This role involves collaborating across teams to optimize data workflows and support our digital initiatives. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Key Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the automation of data pipelines.
• Design, develop, and optimize data flow pipelines to extract, transform, and load data from diverse data sources, enabling information models and digital product development.
• Identify and implement process improvements in data management, including automating manual tasks, optimizing data delivery, and re-architecting databases for scalability and performance.
• Contribute to the development of digital products using advanced data engineering techniques, such as semantic layers, EDL (Enterprise Data Lakes), and EDF (Enterprise Data Fabric).
Basic Qualifications:
• Proficiency in Python and SQL programming languages.
• Hands-on experience in processing, filtering, cleaning, and standardizing large datasets.
• Strong knowledge of relational databases, semantic layers, graph databases, and EDL/EDF technologies.
• Proficiency in Databricks, including notebooks, clusters, and Unity Catalog.
• Familiarity with GenAI prompt engineering.
• Understanding of DevOps and software best practices, including version control, continuous integration, and test-driven development.
• Experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or a related industry.
• Strong organizational skills and a keen attention to detail.
• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Proficiency in EDL tools such as Prophecy.
• Experience in data strategy, data products, and information modeling.
• Working experience in the SAFe Agile delivery model.
Education Requirements:
• Master’s Degree with 1-3 years of experience in data science/data engineering OR
• Bachelor’s Degree with 3-5 years of experience in data science/data engineering
