General Summary or Overall Purpose:
The Data Entry Specialist is responsible for entering programmatic data into the DACL database for tracking client services (CSTARS). They will provide data reports and analysis and ad hoc requests to DACL
Principal Accountabilities:
- Receives, reviews, and cross-examines all source documents including client intake, client updates, new enrollment, service units, activity sheets, nutrition receipts, and other related program documentation.
- Resolves issues with source data prior to entry; Enters all program data into appropriate program database and/or other related software.
- Produces and prepares data reports for review.
- Organizes, files, and secures hard copy source files.
- Serves as program database expert; works with DCOA database specialist to report issues or problems with the program database.
- Assists staff with program database updates and system-related issues.
- Maintains strict confidentiality in all matters, including but not limited to, clients, personnel, budgets, contracts, Board of Directors, and all other non-public business information.
- Other duties as assigned.

Work Experience:
- Three or more years of experience working with data entry, reviewing data, and resolving data discrepancies.
Education:
- An associate’s degree (A.A.) is preferred, a high school diploma (or GED equivalent) is required, and an equivalent combination of education and directly related experience may be considered.
Specific Knowledge and Abilities:
Must have a strong aptitude for math and reviewing figures; Strong proofreading skills; Knowledge of database and data entry practices and reporting basics.
Computer Skills:
- Must be proficient in basic MS Office programs including MSWord, Excel, Outlook, and Explorer.
- Experience with data entry and related reporting is required.
Communication/Interpersonal skills:
- Must possess the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and work with others.
- Must have good written and verbal communication skills.
