GENERAL SUMMARY
- The Data Integration Engineer is an engineering professional who, working with little or no supervision, applies engineering knowledge, experience with managing plant process data, and ingenuity to complete projects from concept thru project closure related to improving the availability of plant process data within the AVEVA PI Plant Historian.
- To be successful, the position will interface with internal stakeholders in operations, maintenance, engineering, and business technology solutions as well as external suppliers and 3rd party contract firms.
- In depth knowledge of the AVEVA PI Data Historian system features such as Asset Framework, RT Reports, and PI Vision are critical.
- Candidates should feel comfortable working hands-on with the AVEVA PI system components in a plant environment.
- Strong communication and leadership skills along with technical knowledge of pharmaceutical/medical device projects are required.
- Define and configure the AVEVA PI Asset Framework for the Drug Product Pilot Plant
- Support a project to implement PI RT Reports
- Define and configure additional reports based on pilot plant stakeholder needs
- Define and configure PI Vision displays (trends and graphical displays) to support manufacturing operations
- Define and configure PI Event Frames and PI Notifications to support plant operations and maintenance
- Configure, commission, and test PI tags for new and existing plant equipment
- Coordinate multiple parties to complete project scopes on schedule while meeting deliverable quality expectations
- Generate and approve life-cycle documentation including user requirements, software specifications, software test plans, and system operating procedures
- Make effective decisions when presented with multiple options for how to progress a project
- Communicate with management to keep the project aligned with department goals
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, or closely related discipline, or equivalent technical experience plus demonstrated competence, with 5+ years of significant engineering and / or operational experience.
- Expertise in configuring and testing AVEVA PI Plant Historian features including PI Interfaces, PI Asset Framework, PI RT Reports, and PI Vision is a must.
- Technical background in Pharmaceutical or similar GMP-regulated industry.
- Experience with industrial plant automation and controls engineering.
- Interacts well with diverse groups within engineering and maintains strong working relationships with internal and external collaborators.
- Listens to and understands others’ points of view and articulates tactfully and respectfully one’s own perspective orally, in writing, and in presentations.
- Works well with other engineers in a collaborative, fast-paced goal-driven environment.

- Expertise with PLC control systems, including advanced hardware and software troubleshooting.
- Experience with Wireless HART networks and related data integration.
- Experience with manufacturing equipment and/or automation system commissioning and qualification.
- Exposure to drug product and oral dosage form manufacturing and equipment.
