DATA SCIENTIST - City of Miami

This highly technical, analytical, and specialized role will be instrumental in bringing data to the center of business and enable data as the driver for decision-making in the City.
 
The Data Scientist will work with stakeholders in the design, implementation, and administration of data strategy and is responsible for assessing the state of the City’s current data sources, recommending and co-designing data architecture, extracting and cleaning data, providing recommendations on data governance, and creating insightful analytics, visuals, and dashboards to inform decision makers. Work involves the consistent exercise of discretion and judgment and is performed under general supervision.  Work is predominantly intellectual and varied in character as opposed to routine mental, manual, mechanical, or physical work. The role requires a combination of technical expertise, analytical skills, effective communication, and innovative mindset. An employee of this class works independently and may supervise the work of lower-level professionals and technical staff members. Reports to a higher-level administrator.
