JOB SUMMARY:
Multiplan pioneers innovative solutions for healthcare payments, drawing on unique insights and data analysis to create customized action plans to help our customers thrive. This position will work to enable deeper insights and better decision making through the use of data science techniques. They will work with stakeholders across the business to identify opportunities, understand data, develop actionable insights, and work to implement those insights into practice. There are tasks that the junior data scientist will fully own, but they will have leadership and mentor support to answer questions, and assist with roadblocks.
JOB ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Utilizing your intellectual curiosity, partner with stakeholders throughout the organization to leverage company data and drive business solutions.
2. Mine and analyze data from company databases and use predictive modeling to drive optimization and improvement of product development, marketing techniques and business strategies.
3. Employ responsible principles of machine learning/AI to ensure models are transparent, relevant, and properly used.
4. Mature our data science practice with continuous learning and knowledge sharing.
5. Collaborate, coordinate, and communicate across disciplines and departments.
6. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and requirements.
7. Demonstrate Company's Core Competencies and values held within.
8. Please note due to the exposure of PHI sensitive data -- this role is considered to be a High Risk and Privileged Role.

JOB REQUIREMENTS (Education, Experience, and Training):
* Bachelor's degree in quantitative science related field or related degree and training in a quantitative science or related field. * Technical capability in data mining/data analysis methods, building and implementing models, using/creating algorithms and creating/running simulations. Healthcare experience preferred.
* Experience using statistical computer languages (Python preferred) to manipulate data and draw insights from large data sets.
* Knowledge of advanced statistical techniques and concepts (regression, properties of distributions, statistical tests and proper usage, etc.).
* Practical understanding of designing, conducting, analyzing, and interpreting experiments and investigations.
* Possess a passion for discovering solutions hidden in large data sets and working with stakeholders to improve business outcomes.
* Possess a drive to learn and master new technologies and techniques.
* Process optimizations experience preferred
* Problem solving, critical thinking, creativity, organizational, design, interpersonal, communication (written, verbal and listening) skills.
* Individual in this position must be able to work in a standard office environment which requires sitting and viewing monitor(s) for extended periods of time, operating standard office equipment such as, but not limited to, a keyboard, copier and telephone
COMPENSATION
The salary range for this position is $85K to $110K. Specific offers take into account a candidate’s education, experience and skills, as well as the candidate’s work location and internal equity. This position is also eligible for health insurance, 401k and bonus opportunity.
