About The Role:
SVB Capital is a multi-strategy investment platform that targets the innovation economy with assets under management across venture capital fund of funds, direct funds, and private credit funds. We invest in fund managers and private technology companies throughout the innovation economy around the world. SVB Capital manages funds on behalf of third party limited partners. The SVB Capital family of funds is comprised of over $9.7 billion in assets under management.
This position will report into Data Science & Engineering group whose:
Mission - is to develop and manage a curated data & analytics platform that provides intelligence and drives efficiency to SVB Capital
Vision - to become the industry leading analytics & data science practice, bringing a data-driven approach to venture investing and financing
This position will join the Data Science & Engineering team and leverage SVB Capital’s curated analytics platform & corresponding operating model, the sales technology stack, and coordinate with the broader team to drive value to the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analytics - Field, scope, develop, and execute on curated business line initiatives that bring further efficiency and enhanced capability via quantitative analysis and solutions
- Data Science - Drive and deliver modeling and ML efforts to develop insights and intelligence in all data driven initiatives
- Engineering - Core responsibility to execute on data mining and collection procedures that identify and procure value accretive data, ensure quality and it’s speed to business availability
- Business Intelligence - responsible for creating/maintaining a suite of Tableau/Power BI dashboards
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum 7 years of relevant work experience related to analytics
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university required
- Hybrid work environment, with ability to work 1-2 days/week in a local office (if available)
- Proficient in data querying languages (e.g. SQL), scripting languages (e.g. Python) or statistical/mathematical software (e.g. R, SAS, Matlab, etc.)
- Proficient in Business Intelligence tools (ie Tableau, PowerBI, etc.)
- Practically apply best practice approach and tools based on the scope and analytical needs of assigned projects
- Build and manage relationships with stakeholders, senior management and staff working independently and as part of a team
- Ability to communicate approach and convey the value to stakeholders
- Prioritize and deliver in a collaborative and fast-paced environment
- Concisely communicate ideas through PowerPoint and other documentation while adjusting style and level of details depending on audience
- Familiarity with analytical frameworks and tools
- PowerPoint, Excel, and design tools to develop work plans, articulate complex issues, analyze data and execute activities
- Effective speaking and writing skills
- Understanding of how people and organizations go through change and the change process
