Pay Range: $50.00 - $80.00per hr
Job Description:
Our client is seeking an experienced Database Administrator (DBA) to manage and optimize their data warehouse infrastructure. This role focuses on SQL databases and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services, particularly BigQuery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and manage BigQuery data warehouses, including table structures, stored procedures, and optimizing queries.
- Develop and maintain data pipelines to move data from sources like Informix and AWS PostgreSQL into BigQuery.
- Monitor, tune, and troubleshoot data warehouse performance, including query optimization and indexing.
- Implement data security measures and manage access controls to comply with regulations.
- Set up monitoring and alerts, ensuring high availability and reliability.
- Develop data governance policies and maintain data quality standards.
- Collaborate with data analysts, engineers, and stakeholders to meet data requirements.
- Document processes and provide training and support.
- Manage database access roles and perform tasks as needed outside regular hours.
- Expertise in BigQuery and GCP, with experience in Informix databases.
- Strong SQL skills for querying and performance tuning.
- Knowledge of data integration tools (e.g., Dataflow, Apache Beam, Airflow) and ETL processes.
- Familiarity with data security practices and compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
- Experience with other data warehouse technologies (e.g., Redshift, Snowflake) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS).
- Understanding of data modeling, warehousing, and visualization tools (e.g., Looker, PowerBI).
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Experience with GitHub for database version control and CI/CD pipelines.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work professionally with others.
- Cloud service experience (GCP, AWS).
- System administration skills.
- Ability to test and troubleshoot effectively.
