Job Description:
The Database Administrator will be primarily responsible for extracting and transforming data into actionable reports that would be used by multiple parties across the company. Additional responsibilities include: database system design, deployment, maintenance, troubleshooting, performance monitoring and tuning, capacity planning, upgrade and migration planning and execution, high availability and disaster recovery, backup and recovery, and automation scripts development.
The DBA will be responsible for NoSQL and MySQL databases which include over XX+ tables. Excellent communication and analytical skills will be required to be successful in this fast and dynamic environment.

Must Have for the Position:
- 3+ years of experience extracting and transforming data from databases to generate reports
- and/or data exports
- 3+ years of experience researching, gathering, analyzing, and compiling data in support of
- customer requests
- 2+ years of experience in Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO), using native monitoring
- and troubleshooting tools
- Strong knowledge of how indexes, index management, integrity checks, configuration, patching.
- How statistics work, how indexes are stored, how they can be created and managed effectively
Nice to have:
- At least 2-3 years of experience with Agile Scrum practices, concepts and procedures
- Experience in the Telecommunications Industry or Access Network technologies
- Exceptional written, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills required
- Ability to work independently and works extremely well in an Agile/SCRUM team setting,
- Possesses a positive attitude, is detail oriented, and communicates status on a regular basis.
- Has the ability to balance competing priorities in a very dynamic/fast-paced environment.
What you will be doing:
- Assisting in development of standard reports based on ongoing business needs
- Performance tuning, troubleshoot, write queries and stored procedures
- Manage user access, develop and run data import routines from external systems
- Test and update disaster recovery procedures
- Develop and execute database upgrade plans
- Ensures appropriate linkages to existing databases and data processing systems
- Monitors database transactions to ensure correct usage of the database
- Write documentation and collaborate with technical peers
- Database: NoSQL (Couchbase, Redis), SQL (SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL), FileMaker Pro 13
- Front End: JavaScript (React, jQuery), PHP (CodeIgniter, Drupal), CSS Bootstrap
- Back End: PHP (Laravel), REST API
- Scripting: Python 2.6 or later
- Infrastructure: Nagios, Jenkins, Cron, Linux
- Agile Tools: JIRA, Rally
