About the Job
L.J. Gonzer Associates is looking for individuals to join our pool of qualified candidates for potential assignment as a Database Administrator.
- Installing, upgrading, and patching Oracle Database software in an IBM AIX environment with RAC, ASM, Data Guard, Enterprise Manager, and GoldenGate.
- Creating Oracle databases.
- Developing and testing a backup and recovery strategy, backing up Oracle databases regularly, and recovering them in case of failures.
- Configuring the network environment to enable clients to connect to databases.
- Starting up and shutting down the database.
- Managing storage for the database.
- Managing users and security.
- 7 years of experience troubleshooting Oracle 10g or higher database performance and other related issues; specifically by working with other teams to identify if the issue is at the storage, network, database, or application tier.
- 7 years of experience working with developers to suggest modifications which could improve the performance of their SQL (e.g., avoiding cartesian products, suggesting indexes, etc).
- 7 years of experience using RMAN for backup and recovery of Oracle 10g or higher databases. Experience must include using RMAN for recovery.
- 7 years of experience upgrading Oracle Database software, version 10g or higher, in a Unix-like environment (e.g. AIX, Linux, etc).Experience must include upgrading an entire RAC cluster with DataGuard. 7.5 10
- 7 years of experience patching Oracle Database software ,version 10g or higher, in a Unix-like environment (e.g. AIX, Linux, etc). Experience must include patching an entire RAC cluster with DataGuard. 7.5 10
- 7 years of experience installing Oracle Database software, version 10g or higher, in a Unix-like environment (AIX, Linux, etc) , for a RAC cluster with DataGuard.
- 4 years of experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud Control, version 13 or higher.
- 3 years of experience with Oracle 10g or higher with an application tier which uses IBM Cúram architecture (direct experience with Cúram itself not necessary).
- Oracle 10g or higher Certified Professional (OCP) certification.
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
