Job Summary:
Supermicro Computer, Inc. is looking for a top tier Database Administrator in our headquarters located in San Jose, CA.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Includes the following essential duties and responsibilities (other duties may also be assigned):
• Follow enterprise standards, procedures, physical data storage, maintenance, access, backup and recovery, documentation, security, and best practices in a team environment
• Responsible for the installation, update, configuration and production support for all SQL Server Database Services and servers
• Provides SQL DBA support based on SQL monitoring and maintenance solutions, respond to SQL alerts, and provide on-call support
• Works closely with application and IT teams to design and optimize all DB environments
• Performs advanced database administration activities including; installation, configuration, monitoring, space management, database backup and recovery, and disaster recovery procedures
• Performs installation, configurations, and maintenance for SQL Server AlwaysOn Availability Group
• Performs database environment reviews and provides DB improvement solutions to application owners
• Provide HA and DR solutions for Dev, Test and production environments
• Provide technical writings and detailed documentation on technology standards and procedures and make recommendations for optimization
• Independently be able to provide performance measures of transactional databases, identifying bottlenecks, disk analysis and other metrics to provide tuning recommendations
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree with minimum 3 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
• In-depth knowledge in database performance tuning
• Experience writing T-SQL stored procs or complex queries
• Experience in installation, configuration, patching, migration, upgrades HA/DR strategies
• Must have good understating of architecture principles within MS SQL Server database technologies
• Should be able to support 24X7 support for critical systems
• Experience working with both on-premise and cloud
• Experience in SQL Query tuning by Profiler/indexing, understanding optimizer and execution plans
• Good to have, experience in MySQL
• Product Areas:
o Operating Systems/Databases
- Microsoft Windows Server 2014, 2016, and 2019
- Microsoft SQL Server 2014, 2016, 2017 and 2019
- SSRS, SSIS, SSAS are good to have
o Areas of proficiencies:
- Proficient skills with T-SQL and PowerShell
- SQL Installation upgrade/patching, and configuration
- Solid SQL tuning skills
- Backup and Recovery, solid with HA/DR solutions
- Solid understanding of High Availability - Configure, install and support Always-On AG, Clustering, Mirroring, Log shipping, Replication, etc.
- Familiar with SQL Monitoring tools/solutions
•Team-oriented interpersonal skills, ability to work independently or part of team
Salary Range
$79,000 - $131,000
The salary offered will depend on several factors, including your location, level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience, and comparison to other employees already in this role. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as participation in bonus and equity award programs.
