Under the direction of the Executive Director of Residential Camp, the Day Camp Director is responsible for all aspects of the YMCA Camp Tumbleson Lake day camp operations to develop and achieve camp and association goals.

Responsibilities:- Develops, implements, and manages day camping programs, complying with all Association standards, safety procedures, and risk management practices.
- Interviews, hires, trains, develops, schedules, and directs personnel and volunteers as needed. Reviews and evaluates staff performance. Develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals. Evaluates effectiveness of employed personnel seasonally; observes individual performances and appraises their effectiveness
- Assists with Colorado State licensing and inspections, ACA preparation and visitation.
- Assures the proper scheduling of programs and services to maximize member services.
- Works alongside the Community Engagement Manager to review and evaluate the enrollment, programs, services, and operations of YMCA Camp Tumbleson Lake and communicates findings to the Executive Director, Board, Branch Council, and committees, as required.
- Interprets and communicates the objective and programs of the YMCA of Northern Colorado to the Camp community and participates actively in the community and local organizations.
- Ensures high quality programs through innovative program development, evaluations and ongoing training of staff and volunteers. Develops new programs to meet the needs of campers and the community.
- Works with the Marketing Department and CEM to oversee facility signage, the development of program brochures, flyers and bulletin boards that meet branch and Association standards and complement the facility.
- Ensures all dashboards and reports are completed on time and accurately.
- Represents the camp at assigned community functions, group meetings, Association meetings, and within the camp.
- Researches and attends camp fairs each season to promote CTL Day Camp.
- Stays up-to-day and well informed on industry standards and trends through self-study, professional development and conference opportunities and research or workshop participation.
- Incorporates the mission, philosophy, and core values of the YMCA in all communication with participants and co-workers.
- Supports association-wide youth development programs and initiatives, as assigned based on the time of year and needs of the association.
- Manages and implements the approved budget for assigned programs and takes appropriate action to correct variances.
- Maintains an open, friendly, professional relationship with staff, parents, participants, and the community.
- Assures compliance with state and local regulations as they relate to program areas. Ensures that YMCA program standards are met, and safety procedures followed at all times.
- Maintains regular and timely communications with supervisor, other Y employees, parents, and school community members.
- Provides for upkeep of assigned program facilities and equipment and ensures the physical environment supports healthy living.
- Works cooperatively with other YMCA departments and camp leadership, and YESS to build and market programs.
- Provides staff leadership for annual fundraising campaign and committees as assigned.
- Participates in all staff meetings, planning groups, association related meetings, and other required association events.
- Completes required documentation and tracking information for grant expenditures.
- Drives program participants as needed for events or arranges for YMCA approved driver as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Must have experience in a wide range of Camp programs.
- Must have a thorough understanding of Camp operations, program quality and delivery.
- Possess the ability to supervise various program committees, seasonal staff and camp participants.
- Must have the knowledge to manage the facilities, equipment programs and schedule of each department staff and volunteers.
- Must be able to work a varied schedule, to include evenings and weekends.
- At least 2 years’ experience working with children in an organized setting.
- CPR, First Aid, AED certifications and Child Abuse Prevention training within 30 days of hire date.
- Previous experience with diverse populations preferred.
- Must have a thorough understanding of camp operations, program quality and delivery.
- Cleared to drive YMCA vehicles with a clean MVR.

Posted Salary Range:USD $55,000.00 - USD $55,000.00 /Yr.
