Pathway to Choices provides Independent Living, Supported Living, and Adult Day Services to people with developmental disabilities. We have a strong value of consumer choice, as well as a strong emphasis on independent living and support in the home. We have multiple Instructor positions available and are looking for Bi-lingual staff to provide support to our consumers. A friendly outgoing person with clear communication skills a must!
Job Title: Day Program Staff
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt (Hourly), 8:30-2:30
Opening in Sacramento $16.00 per hour for non experience and $17 with at least 6 months experience. Looking for full time or part time Candidates.
Behavioral Day Program in Citrus Heights $17.00 and up to $18.00 per hour with experience.

Summary:
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Implement curriculum and activity schedules for consumers served
- Provide training in consumer-specific goals and objectives utilizing individualized training methodologies in domain areas including but not limited to: Behavior Management, Independent Living, Pre-Vocational/Vocational Activities, Literacy (mathematics, history, sciences, business, English, arts, etc.) Community Participation, Self-Advocacy/Self-Determination, Health and Well Being, use of Public Transportation, Money Management, Personal Care, Medication Administration, etc
- Prepare lessons and teach subject matter
- Document consumer progress toward goals and objectives, and other relevant information daily, weekly, monthly and annually
- Actively participate in meetings including but not limited to ISP meetings, Quarterly and Semi-Annual reviews, Behavior Management Plan Sessions, Governance Meetings, Staff-Meetings, In-Service Training Sessions, etc.
- Maintain and monitor professional relationships with consumers, families, Agency Staff, RCEB, Community Care Licensing, community members and employers
- Implement community based paid and volunteer opportunities for consumers
- Ensure consumer rights are not violated and
- Certified Pro Act Trainer for PTC in Sacramento.
- Current Certification.
- Provide quality training to all PTC staff.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. - Must be at least 18 years of age
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Regularly communicate in a positive and effective manner with our consumers in a fast paced environment.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and decision making skills
- Compassion and empathy in dealing with people with a variety of physical, mental, emotional and social challenges
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including computer skills
- Interest and willingness to work with consumers to meet their needs and choices; and
- Ability and willingness to be flexible.
Other Qualifications:
- A negative result on the Tuberculosis test
- California driver's license, car insurance, current registration
- Clean driving record
- Reliable means of transportation
- Proof of current good health (signed by a physician)
- Clean Live-Scan/criminal report.
Education and Experience:
- At least one year experience in a similar position
- CPR, First Aid, and Pro Act Training
- Experience on working with people with different behaviors
- Knowledge of the CA service system for adults with developmental disabilities
- An understanding and commitment to the philosophy of normalization and inclusion, positive programming, and consumer driven services.
Language Skills:
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to speak effectively to clients and other employees.

- Regularly talk and hear up to 6 hours a day
- Regularly stand for prolonged periods of time over the course of an 6 hour day
- Regularly walk, squat, kneel, bend, push, pull, stoop, use hands to finger, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms
- Ability to lift and transfer consumers from wheelchairs
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
- Ability to participate in physical activity
- Regularly lift and/or move up to forty (40) pounds.
