Experienced Daytime Caregiver Needed for Immobile Senior
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled daytime caregiver to provide comprehensive care for our mother, who is completely immobile due to strokes and has mild dementia, as well as to lightly assist our father. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing daily routines, providing personal care, and maintaining a safe, engaging environment for both seniors.
Key Responsibilities:
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled daytime caregiver to provide comprehensive care for our mother, who is completely immobile due to strokes and has mild dementia, as well as to lightly assist our father. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing daily routines, providing personal care, and maintaining a safe, engaging environment for both seniors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with all transfers for mother: bed to wheelchair, wheelchair to toilet, and back.
- Manage morning and daytime routines, including personal hygiene and grooming.
- Prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks for both seniors.
- Ensure proper hydration throughout the day for both seniors.
- Provide complete assistance with toileting and personal care tasks for mother.
- Offer daily hygiene reminders to father as needed.
- Engage in stimulating activities, games, and conversations with both seniors.
- Perform regular housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and organized living space.
- Monitor medication schedules and provide reminders as directed.
- Implement exercise or physical therapy routines as prescribed by healthcare professionals.
Essential Requirements:
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Home Health Aide (HHA) certification strongly preferred.
- Extensive experience in caring for immobile patients, particularly stroke survivors.
- Proficiency in safe transfer techniques.
- Knowledge of dementia care and elder engagement strategies.
- Culinary skills and understanding of nutritional needs for seniors.
- Strong communication skills and a patient, caring demeanor.
- Physical capability to assist with transfers and other care tasks.
- Ability to multitask and manage time effectively.
- Clean background check and reliable transportation.
