We are seeking a seasoned, highly motivated and intellectually curious DBA/DB Developer to join our team working and play a pivotal role in implementing user-friendly, responsive and high-performance web applications for a Federal client. The DBA/DB Developer will work closely with the rest of the development team to create a robust solution that meets the client's needs. As a core member of our development team, the DBA/DB Developer will design, develop and modify custom software solutions that solve problems, improve business operations, and manage the complexity inherent with technology change.
The position will be a remote role open to US citizens residing in the United States with an ACTIVE SECRET security clearance.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Design and implement database systems that meet the needs of the client
- Maintain the security and integrity of the database and its users
- Monitor the performance of the database and troubleshoot issues
- Create and maintain documentation for the database, including data policies, procedures, and standards
- Optimize the database for efficiency, including modifying the design to avoid performance bottlenecks
- Work closely with project managers to meet project deadlines and deliverables.
- Work in a fast-paced Agile environment with fluid requirements and changing priorities
- Respond to technical issues in a professional and timely manner
- Possess considerable logic and understanding to analyze and troubleshoot problems
- Must be able to work independently with little to no daily supervision, is a team player, open to ideas and learning.
- Work in a distributed team environment where team members are spread across numerous locations and often communicate virtually to support clients.
Required Experience, Skills and Qualifications
- Required skills:
- Ability to work with US Federal clients and possess an ACTIVE SECRET clearance
- Minimum 2-5 experience in Database Administratio
- Experience with various DBMS platforms (preferably Oracle and Postgresql)
- Experience with cloud-based databases (preferably AWS RDS)
- Experience with database automation and scripting
- Experience in database design and modelling (E-R diagrams, Data normalization)
- Experience in SQL and query optimization (Query tuning, Indexing etc)
- Experience in Database security (authentication/authorization, encryption, access control etc)
- Experience in Backup/Recovery, Performance monitoring
- Experience in Data migration and integration (ETL, Data Warehousing)
- Desired skils:
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Ability to take the initiative to complete tasks with minimal supervision
- Skilled in verbal, written and oral communication
- Strong team player with a great attitude
- Flexibility and willingness to go beyond the call of duty. Highly self-motivated and directed. (a go getter)

Education Requirement:
- 4 year Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Eng or related (highly preferred)
