Job Summary:
The DC Safety and Security Coordinator will assist with daily audits, tracking and maintaining logs of all Safety and Security records. The Safety and Security Coordinator will collaborate with team leaders to develop, prepare, and implement safety and security processes. Will be required to take proactive steps to provide a safe and secure working environment for employees and visitors. This role will overlap 1st and 2nd shift from 11am - 7:30pm.
Essential Functions (Including but not limited to):
· Collaborate with team leaders to uphold safety and security programs and policies. This may include emergency preparedness, accident prevention, general safety, and risk management.
· Monitor security systems such as access control, surveillance cameras, and alarms, and responding to any issues or alarms.
· Investigate and report on safety and security incidents such as accidents, theft, vandalism, or unauthorized access. This may include recommending corrective actions.
· Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities and implement measures to mitigate risks.
· Ensuring compliance with OSHA, federal, state, and local regulations.
· Reviewing current safety training and recommending revisions, improvements, and updates. This may also include teaching supervisors, managers, and other leaders about health and safety standards, and presenting safety training sessions to the company.
· Conduct daily inspections of the distribution center and inspect first aid kts, fire extinguishers, and other fire protection equipment.
· Conducts daily, weekly, and monthly audits to comply with OSHA and company policies. This includes coming in early once a month to do harness / lanyard inspection as needed.
· Conduct monthly self-audits and assist the operation with annual audits.
· Performs any other duties as assigned to support the needs of the operation.
Qualifications/Requirements:
· Strong communications skills; both verbal and written.
· Experience in Safety and Security 2-3 years and 2 years of Investigation.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Must be self-motivated and work independently.
- Must be detail oriented and ability to manage multiple projects.
- Intermediate skills in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Quick on their feet, willing to be flexible with the work schedule and hours with possible weekends.
- Certified to operated required MHE in facility.
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- Ability to build strong internal and external business and customer relationships.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $24.00 - $26.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
