About the Job
Our client, a pharmaceutical distribution company is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented DEA Compliance Manager to join their team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the company's compliance with all relevant DEA regulations, laws, and policies related to the handling and distribution of controlled substances.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive DEA compliance programs and procedures to ensure adherence to regulations
- Conduct regular audits and inspections of facilities, processes, and records to ensure compliance
- Collaborate with relevant departments (e.g. pharmacy, logistics, quality assurance) to ensure proper training and education on DEA compliance
- Review and maintain accurate records and reports related to controlled substances, including inventory management and tracking
- Liaise with DEA officials and other regulatory agencies (e.g. FDA, state boards of pharmacy) as needed
- Stay up-to-date with changing regulations and update company policies and procedures accordingly
- Provide guidance and support to staff on DEA compliance matters, including answering questions and addressing concerns
- Identify and mitigate potential risks and non-compliance issues, and implement corrective actions as needed
- Develop and maintain relationships with external partners and vendors to ensure compliance with DEA regulations
- Manage and maintain documentation of compliance activities, including audit reports and corrective action plans
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g. pharmaceuticals, chemistry, law)
- At least 3-5 years of experience in DEA compliance or a related field (e.g. pharmacy, regulatory affairs)
- Strong knowledge of DEA regulations and laws related to controlled substances, including the Controlled Substances Act and DEA guidance documents
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
