About the Job
The Decision Support Analyst will be responsible for providing strategic reporting and information to key stakeholders and hospital leadership. The Decision Support Analyst will analyze operational volumes, expense & service utilization, profitability, and the organization's competitive position in the marketplace.
Bachelor s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Healthcare Administration or Business related field from an accredited college or university.
- Analyzes and organizes qualitative and quantitative clinical, financial and administrative data from multiple data sources and synthesizes results into meaningful reports and presentations.
- Works collaboratively with others, defines and supports methods of financial analysis for new and existing ventures, physician contracts and reimbursement impact.
- Participates in the coordination of a variety of complex and confidential special projects, from planning and design stages through implementation, as needed.
- Manages customer expectations as they relate to project deliverables.
- Ability to evaluate the cost/benefit associated with recommended scenarios
- Must be able to assess the impact of decisions and modify the course of action as needed
- Ability to socialize a concept to evaluate the impact of change recommended
- Prepares monthly reports by collecting data and investigate results
- Responds to financial inquiries by gathering, analyzing, summarizing and interpreting data
- Ability to track physician compensation actuals compared to budget and provide insights to variances
- Prepare financial models that compare physician compensation compared benchmark Survey data
- Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of financial modeling and analytic techniques
- Knowledge of physician compensation models and Survey data
- Proficiency in technical writing and graphical presentations
- Relational database knowledge and experience working with large data sets
- Knowledge of cost accounting, revenue, profitability data and the ability to explain to key stakeholders
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities and re-establish priorities as necessary.
- Initiative and ability to work independently (self-direction), while thriving in a setting requiring
collaboration and teamwork for maximum efficiency and effectiveness. - Attention to detail that ensures follow through on initiatives implemented and projects undertaken.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
- Knowledge of Crystal Reports and Access
- Knowledge of Cognos database desirable not required
- Knowledge of healthcare coding (UB-92, ICD-9/10, CPT-4, HCPCS, DRG, etc.)
