Our client, a nationwide provider of high-quality food products has an immediate opening for a Deduction Specialist, to join their winning team in Collingswood.
Our candidate of choice will display a positive and proactive attitude, strong organizational skills, and ability to prioritize. This position requires a detailed understanding of collections/deductions. This role reports and is backed up by the Accounting Manager.
KEY REQUIREMENTS:
- Research, analyze, and resolve all customer deductions including shortages, reclamations, damages, and returns accurately and effectively.
- Submission of all unauthorized deductions within the customer’s dispute timelines.
- Post Credit/Debit adjustments for Marketing Rebates and Food show deductions.
- Provide all necessary documentation to meet department and audit standards.
- Works closely with the Sales team to maintain updated contracts.
- Continuous follow-up with customers regarding repayments of deductions.
- Alert upper management and sales teams of customer trends on deductions.
- Enter invoices into customer portals for payment.
- Scan invoices and Bill of Ladings via document imaging.
- Performs other related duties as assigned
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 3-5 years’ experience in deductions
- Must read and write English
- Advanced Math skills
- Billing/Collections experience required
- Food industry experience preferred
- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel & Word.
- Aspen/Canopy ERP experience preferred.
- Food Industry experience preferred.
- Understanding of Marketing agreements is preferred.
- Proficient in computer, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication skills and ability to work well with others.
- Must be able to perform successfully in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment.
