The purpose of this role is to coordinate the distribution of company products to customer accounts. The Delivery Driver Manager manages the Delivery Customer Representatives in order to ensure efficient and timely day-to-day delivery and merchandising of company products for customer accounts. The Delivery Manager is also responsible for all routes running smoothly and evaluating route efficiency to offer suggestions and changes to routes as needed.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage the Delivery Customer Representative delivery roles and Route Relief, including hiring, development, performance management and terminations
- Provide coaching, training and motivation to new and existing Delivery Customer Representatives
- Manage associate performance to ensure customer base goals are achieved; hold Delivery Customer Representatives accountable for executing their duties and responsibilities, including proper rotation, merchandising, customer service, safe driving and vehicle maintenance
- Participate in delivery ride-alongs and evaluate performance
- Regularly visit store accounts to perform rotation check-ups
- Perform delivery duties as needed
- Develop customer relationships and provide service to insure customer retention and customer loyalty
- Perform other duties as necessary
Job Requirements
- High School diploma and four years of management experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience to successfully perform the job duties and responsibilities
- A valid commercial driver's license
- A valid pallet jack and/or forklift certification
- Knowledge of general sales, account management and marketing techniques
- Knowledge of inventory management and general merchandising
- Knowledge of administration and management principles
- Knowledge of human resources principles
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service
- Basic knowledge of computers and tablets
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Skills in coordinating others
- Skills in critical thinking, problem solving and judgement and decision making

Work Environment and Equipment
Work generally takes place in an office or customer account setting. Individuals must be able to use general office equipment, including a tablet or PC, as well as a two-wheel dolly and pallet jack.
