Job Details:Our Delivery Room Tech will:
- Work under the supervision of the Registered Nurse in delivering safe and effective care to patients in the Delivery Room.
- Partner with an interdisciplinary team including, but not limited to, surgeons, anesthesiologists, registered nurses (RN), and ancillary staff to optimize patient outcomes and satisfaction.
- Set up and prepare rooms for surgical procedures, scrub in on cases, and perform counts according to hospital policy. Initiate appropriate procedure for incorrect counts.
- Clean rooms and instruments, and restock supplies within the department.
- Assist in positioning, prepping and draping of patients for the procedure.
- Check that instrumentation and equipment are in working order.
- Maintain aseptic technique throughout set up and surgical intervention.
- Correctly handle and identify surgical specimens.
- Safely dispose of biohazardous material.
- Actively participate in room turnover between cases.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) and provide basic nursing care to patients
- Perform EKGs and basic vital sign intake
- Ability to transfer patients to other units when needed
- Perform other tasks as assigned
What you'll bring:
- 1-2+ Years of Surgical Tech experience preferred
- Prior experience working in the Delivery Room setting preferred
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required
- Certification: Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) through the Association of Surgical Technologists required; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
