How you'll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities)
The Logistics Attendant is responsible for warehousing and distribution of aircraft parts and related materials within the logistics operation. This role involves effective communication with Delta Material Service (DMS) teams, procurement, sales, repair and Delta team. The Logistics Attendant works closely with distribution and logistics staff to ensure smooth operations. Additionally, they coordinate with the maintenance team to support inventory and repair needs. Strong organizational and communication skills are essential for maintaining efficiency in the logistics process.
Summary of responsibilities (not comprehensive of all tasks):
- Manage the rejection areas of Delta Material Services (DMS), including locked cages and quarantined spaces for storage of rejected airplane parts, until cleared for serviceability or scrapping
- Maintain accountability of rejected, quarantined, and receiving hold parts, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records through spreadsheets and system reports
- Store received rejected parts promptly in appropriate caged areas, including Delta airline cage, Delta Material Services purchase order/rejection order cage, and scrap (5 series) cage
- Remove and manage parts from cages once they have been fixed, cleared and scrapped, coordinating with the inspection team for further evaluation
- Collaborate with the rejection team to conduct frequent audits of the cages to maintain compliance and accountability
- Ensure inventory control and integrity of all parts, with a specific focus on caged and quarantined parts
- Clear rejections from the cages and quarantined areas following approval from the repair coordinator
- Send correspondence to repair coordinators to facilitate timely repair or correction of paperwork for parts in need of servicing
- Communicate effectively via email, phone, and in-person to coordinate storage and maintain the integrity of assigned parts
- Serve as a subject matter expert in designated work areas and lead training as required
- Prepare product or service reports for the work area and manage communications to ensure consistent information sharing
- Participate in user acceptance testing and assist in creating process and systematic improvements
- Demonstrate critical thinking and interpersonal skills by actively listening and collaborating with colleagues and various levels of leadership
- Provide appropriate solutions and alternatives to handle issues in the work area
- Work effectively and independently with minimal supervision, and demonstrate self-motivation
- Practice safety-conscious behavior in all operational processes and procedures
The starting pay is $33.75 per hour.

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)
- High School diploma or general education degree (GED) required
- One year logistics experience
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Demonstrate the ability to safely operate material handling equipment
- Must be able to work, days, nights, weekends, holidays, and occasionally on-call if needed
- Must be able to work both indoors and outdoors, with potential travel
- Should be a team player with a focus on customer service
- Required to read and write English
- Should possess the ability to meet deadlines with high productivity and accuracy
- Must be performing satisfactorily in the present position
