DAP is looking to hire a Demand Planning Manager at our Corporate office, Baltimore, MD.
Responsibilities
Demand Forecasting
Oversee the creation of an integrated and aligned monthly demand plan (SKU/Channel/Key Account/DC). Provide guidance and ensure the demand plan is consistent with business strategy, priorities, constraints, and market trends. Document and communicate forecast changes and supporting assumptions to stakeholders in the Supply Chain, Sales, Marketing and Finance teams. Gather and incorporate all sources of market, account, product, supply, and competitive intelligence to generate an accurate and unbiased demand plan. Ensure forecasts are accurately maintained in the forecasting platform and on schedule per the monthly process.
Process
Develop and execute strategic roadmap to build demand planning capabilities across the company, including operating model, systems, reporting, and analytics. Work closely with functional stakeholders to improve existing procedures and develop, implement, and adhere to best practices. Build, support, and promote Demand Planning and SIOP processes. Develop solid leadership position as owner of the demand plan. Generate a continuous improvement mindset through Consensus Demand Review phase of SIOP. Ensure process documentation is developed and maintained. Champion and drive full utilization of system-wide planning capabilities.
Analytics
Establish and actively monitor key performance indicators. Work closely with Sales, Marketing, Finance, Supply Execution, and SIOP teams to identify and resolve variances in the forecast and their impacts (risks and opportunities) on customer service, revenue, and gross margin. Identify opportunities for improvement, determine root causes, create scenarios, and determine root causes. Develop and implement corrective measures for improved performance in a proactive manner. Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to execute action plans to mitigate risks/capitalize on opportunities
Data/Reporting
Define and establish demand planning KPIs, metrics, and targets. Ensure data is accurately maintained in a timely manner relative to demand forecasting including hierarchy, historical data cleansing, demand sensing data and forecast model parameters. Develop reports and diagnostic measures to analyze and recommend courses of action. Assess actual performance in comparison to plan to determine variances, communicate findings and recommend forecast revisions.
People
Train, coach, and lead staff in problem solving, communication skills, goal setting, and enriching their overall management skill sets. Establish an environment of continuous improvement where direct reports stay motivated to meet or exceed both service and cost objectives. Provide performance feedback to staff through periodic performance reviews, staff meetings, training, and other activities deemed appropriate. Establish a high-performance culture via the communication of clear expectations and targets. Promote teamwork and a collaborative mindset by sharing best practices, aligning processes, and through proactive transparent communication. Navigate and influence cross-functional stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Operations, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering
- 7-10 years' of relevant experience
- Progressive process and operational responsibility in supply chain, planning, S&OP/IBP, manufacturing or logistics
- Fluency in MS Office with advanced Excel and PowerPoint knowledge
- Previous experience building effective teams, delegating, influencing others, and communicating effectively cross-functionally
- Advanced forecasting, analytics, and planning process and system knowledge
- SAP and APICS experience a plus
- Excellent planning and organizational skills exhibited under tight deadlines with the ability to manage multiple projects
- Some travel required
