Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Dental Assistant to support our dental team in providing exceptional patient care. In this role, you will assist dentists during examinations and treatments, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow in our office.
Responsibilities:- Patient Preparation: Review patient schedules and charts daily to ensure readiness for treatment.
- Operatory Setup: Open the office and operatories, ensuring all equipment is operational and rooms are prepared for patient visits.
- Patient Interaction: Gather and document medical histories, vital signs, and dental radiographs, effectively communicating this information to the dentist.
- Patient Education: Enhance the patient experience by providing comfort options, educating patients about procedures, and setting treatment expectations.
- Emergency Assistance: Support the dentist in managing medical and dental emergencies as they arise.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate clinical notes and patient charts; generate consult and post-operative reports for referring dentists.
- Collaboration: Work closely with front and back office staff to ensure seamless scheduling and effective communication regarding treatment plans.
- Infection Control: Uphold strict infection-control policies and procedures to protect patients and staff.
- Inventory Management: Monitor dental supply levels and communicate needs to management.
- Office Maintenance: Assist with daily cleaning and restocking of operatories to ensure a welcoming environment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
EDUCATION:
High school diploma or equivalent
EXPERIENCE:
Prior experience as a dental assistant is preferred; familiarity with dental procedures and software is advantageous.
Knowledge of dental radiographs
