Job Title: Orthodontic Assistant – Part Time – Schedule: Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays 8:30 AM to 5PM (3 days a week)

Location: Washington, DC 20007

Job Overview: 
Our highly reviewed orthodontic practice is looking for an experienced orthodontic assistant to join us 3 days a week. We have a wonderful work environment that offers our team an amazing work-life balance.

Job Responsibilities Include:

• Ensure patients feel as comfortable as possible before their examination.

• Motivate patients in order to achieve the very best results from orthodontic treatment.

• Change wires and fit appliances, including spacers and elastics. This includes educating the patient in its purpose and how to care for them.

• Scan patients with the iTero intra-oral scanner.

• Take and upload intra-oral photos.

• Discuss oral hygiene and give instructions to patients with new appliances.

• Sterilization of instruments, performing daily maintenance/testing.

• Wipe down chairs and instrument drawers after every patient.

• Assist front desk as needed answering the telephone and scheduling appointments.
  

Requirements:

• Dental Assistant license for DC.
  
• Xray certification
  
• Vaccination status must be current per DC Health Dept. guidelines
  
• An upbeat, patient and empathetic attitude.
  
• Proficiency with computers, especially with Tops Ortho software, Ortho Fi, and strong typing skills.
• Must have COVID vaccination (please submit with resume).

Licenses/Certifications: 
• Dental Assistant license for DC.

• Xray certification
