About the Job
Work with the dentist and other members of the dental team to provide safe and efficient dental treatment to patients following established practices and protocols.
Qualifications:
Certification in radiology by the state of Pennsylvania
Job Responsibilities:
Serve as a chairside assistant for the dentist or other dental team members.
Preparation before treatment and disinfection after treatment of the dental operatory following
established OSHA and CDC infection control guidelines.
Preparation before treatment and disinfection, sterilization, and organization of all dental instruments after treatment following established OSHA and CDC infection control guidelines.
Practice effective fourhanded dentistry techniques to provide for safe and efficient dental treatment and
patient management
Exposure and processing of dental radiographs to provide for proper diagnosis and treatment planning
by the dentist according to state guidelines.
Prepare lab cases and fabricate dental impressions, models, and appliances.
Provide patients with post-operative and oral hygiene instructions.
Maintain the dentist's schedule to ensure that patients get prompt and efficient dental treatment.
Maintain and monitor dental equipment needed
Collect and record the patient's medical and dental history in the electronic dental record.
Enter into the patient's electronic dental record all existing oral conditions and proposed dental treatment.
Maintain confidentiality of all patient information.

Ability to demonstrate respect for individuals of diverse ethnic backgrounds, religion and/or sexual orientation.
Comprehensive knowledge of dental assisting techniques and procedures for all phases of general dentistry.
Knowledge of the manipulation, handling, dispensing and storage of needed dental materials
Ability to manage sensitive information and maintain highest level of confidentiality and professionalism.
Ability to demonstrate respect when speaking with patients, peers, faculty and staff
Ability to comprehend, reason, integrate, analyze, evaluate and problem solve
Ability to practice honest and ethical behavior and accountability
Physical strength to assist a patient in transferring themselves to and from a dental chair
Ability to remain continuously on task for several hours while sitting, standing, or moving
• High level of hand-eye coordination necessary for extremely fine motor control
Ability to demonstrate flexibility and adaptability
Physical demands: prolonged sitting/standing and phone use. Lifting and carrying supplies (5-10 lbs.) may be required.
Compensation: Salary range commensurate with education and experience
