Job Details
We are seeking a board-certified or board-eligible General Anesthesiologist to join our dedicated dental team. This role involves providing anesthesia services for dental procedures, ensuring patients receive safe and effective care throughout their treatment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review patients' medical histories, physical conditions, and psychological readiness for anesthesia.
- Conduct comprehensive pre-operative assessments and consultations to identify risks and develop personalized anesthesia plans.
- Administer appropriate anesthesia techniques (local, sedation, or general) based on patient and procedural needs.
- Adjust anesthesia levels during procedures to maintain patient comfort and safety.
- Continuously monitor vital signs such as heart rate, blood pressure, oxygen levels, and respiration.
- Respond to changes in patient condition, adjusting anesthesia as needed and providing emergency interventions when necessary.
- Supervise patients' recovery from anesthesia, ensuring they regain consciousness safely and comfortably.
- Address immediate post-operative concerns, including pain management and nausea.
- Provide patients and families with post-anesthetic instructions and follow-up care recommendations.
- Work closely with dental surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.
- Communicate effectively with patients and their families about anesthesia procedures, risks, and post-operative care.
- Follow all relevant laws, regulations, and professional guidelines for anesthesia administration.
- Maintain a sterile and safe environment, adhering to best practices in infection control and patient safety.
- Keep accurate records of anesthesia administration and patient care.
Requirements:
- Dental degree (DMD/DDS) and a completed DA residency
- Board eligible or board certified by the ADBA
- Active BLS/ACLS/PALS
- Comfortable treating pediatric patients
- Comfortable with nasal intubations
- Minimum 2-Years of Experience preferred
