POSITION TITLE: INTEGRATED DENTAL HYGIENIST (MDI RDH)
FLSA: EXEMPT
REQUIRED EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- RDH Degree preferred
- Valid Florida Dental Hygiene License
- Minimum of 3 years' experience
- Able to work in harmony with medical staff
- Current BLS certification
- Self-Motivated
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES:
- Work closely with the medical provider to assist in assessment of child's oral health status including assessment of oral pathology
- Provide nutritional counseling and oral hygiene instructions to both parents and child
- Provide toothbrush prophylaxis, dental polishing, placements of sealants when time permits
- Topical fluoride application
- Appropriate management of referral for pediatric dental treatment when indicated
- Cleaning and sterilization of instruments
- Cleaning, and maintenance of equipment and treatment areas
- Assist to increase access for urgent care and referral of patients to dental clinic
- Other duties as assigned
