JOB REQUIREMENTS: UW SYSTEM OFFICIAL TITLE: Department Assistant POSTING
DATE: October 11, 2024 ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: This position reports to
Dean's Assistant of the College of Science, Engineering & Technology
(CSET) and under general supervision, provides administrative support to
professional staff and subordinate supervisors in the assigned college.
This position includes the following responsibilities: Manages office
operations including mail, copy machines, and other office equipment
Processes Copy and Supply orders Schedules and secures resources for
meetings, conferences, and work unit operations Schedules conference
room Manages/maintains department vehicles and schedules vehicles or
contract buses when needed Assists faculty with travel arrangements and
reimbursement requests Serves as a first point of contact for
individuals and groups, provides basic organizational information via
phone, in person and through other communication mediums, and routes
more complex inquiries to the appropriate entities in CSET Assists new
employees/student employees with office supplies and office machines
Upkeeps of department email mailboxes Sends, receives, copies, and
distributes communications to the appropriate entities according to
established policies and procedures under general supervision Mail
distribution/upkeep of staff and faculty mailboxes within departments
Maintains established methods and organizational systems directed at the
maintenance of electronic/physical records related to work operations
according to established policies and procedures Stores Syllabi
reporting to Repository Conducts annual computer equipment inventory and
reports it to IT Coordinates tri-annual confidential shredding, loading,
and delivery to designated area Coordinates Assessment report data
Position is a part-time (80%) University Staff appointment. The work
hours for this position will be between 7:45 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Monday
through Friday. A criminal conviction investigation will be conducted on
the finalist(s). A six-month probationary period is required for this
position. In compliance with the Wisconsin Fair Employment Act, the
