- Position Summary
- Under the general supervision of the Nurse Manager and the direct supervision of the Resource Coordinator, the Department Clerk II functions as a support member to the patient care team. The unit based department clerk II assists in the provision of care by performing a variety of environmental services to include maintaining the cleanliness of equipment, medication carts, pod drawers, pyxis and glucose kits. The department clerk II monitor/maintains and inventories supplies to be ordered by the department secretary. They will obtain other supplies and equipment as needed.

- Core Job Functions
- Reports broken equipment and turns in for repair, cleans Pyxis, medication carts, refrigerators, and kitchen area. Keeps hallways clean of clutter.
- Monitors par levels to assure supplies available to patient care staff. Checks linen, removes excess to keep area clean and clutter free, Notifies department secretary if items in need of ordering.
- Maintains and stocks equipment. Ensures equipment is properly maintained and serviced through biomed when necessary.
- Monitors white board completion and checks dates on lab tubes and blood glucose vials and strips
- Assists nursing by obtaining supplies, beds, equipment to promote nurses remaining at the bedside. Round every 2 hours to check on nursing needs.
