Summary:
Huntington Ingalls Industry (HII) Mission Technologies, is currently seeking a Deputy Project Manager (DMV area) to support the Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Acquisition, SAF/AQ at their Pentagon HQ office.
What You Will Do:
The following Duties represent a majority of the position’s key responsibilities. Assist lead HII Project Manager ICW SAF AQ leadership in setting and executing strategic priorities; prepare for and follow-up on executive-level meetings; bring together external stakeholders; provide insight and feedback to Government leads to assist with decision-making process; act as a sounding board for brainstorming; attend meetings on behalf of SAF/AQ leadership and report back with relevant info; draft official correspondence, briefings, and official statements for reviews, meetings, and taskers; schedule and prioritize engagements for most effective time-usage.
Experience required in below areas:
• Setting up tools and standards for managing assigned projects
• Planning, tracking, and reporting on outputs and outcomes
• Understanding of information and logistics management
• Project financial planning and tracking
• Risk and issue tracking
• Cross-project interdependency management
• Setting quality control standards and tracking implementation
• Developing stakeholders’ map, defining the interest of each group involved in assigned projects
• Planning and executing communication plans to office and project stakeholders
• Presenting
• Assist with Program Reviews and Meetings with appropriate support staff
• Manage subordinate managers/employees and sub-contractors as required
Key attributes: Understands the SAF AQ mission; skilled project manager; skilled relations manager; communicates well; organizes staffing/meetings; simplifies complex problems, conducts strategic thinking and problem analysis, manages the process of idea to execution, anticipates and averts problems, grasps and adds value to SAF/AQ vision, and has organization and political intelligence.

What We're Looking For:
- 8 years relevant progressive experience with Bachelors in related field; 6 years relevant progressive experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 12 years relevant progressive experience.
- Must have an active TS clearance with SCI eligibility
Preferred Requirements
- Education: Minimum 4-year degree (required) in Science and Technology field (Masters degree preferred)
- Defense Travel System approver/administration experience
- DAWIA PM 2
- PMP
- Experience (preferred) At least 10 years in DoD/Defense Industry. Experience with:
- Air Force Acquisition
- Joint Acquisition
- Joint DoD operations
- Integrated Process Teams
- Pentagon operations
