- Provides support to senior engineers in various engineering assignments and projects
- Analyzes test data
- Performs and creates simulations with various tools such as MATLAB, depending on experience
- Makes use of statistical tools when working with large data sets to perform analysis and reporting on various projects
- Creates and/or manipulates 2D CAD drawings and 3D CAD models.
- Ensures the appropriate methodology, measurements, tools and quantitative techniques (e.g. data collection, computer simulation, statistics, etc.) are applied in projects
- Relates all test and analysis results back to core thermodynamic, physics and chemistry fundamentals in order to determine plausibility
- Applies engineering principles, lean processes and analytical techniques to establish and continuously improve processes and products
- Recommends ideas to achieve best practices, apply new tools and techniques to find faster, smarter ways of looking at the data to perform exploratory analysis to improve decision making process
- Relay and explain the results to the project engineer or supervisor overseeing the work he or she has been tasked with. The employee will also be expected to occasionally liaise with suppliers.
QUALIFICATIONS

- Proven track record of achievements both academically and professionally
- Demonstrates strong verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization and effectively present information
- Desire to work in hands-on lab environment
- Excellent organization skills
- Automotive and/or electrification experience is a plus
- Control systems /electronics experience is a plus
- Strong mathematical background and understanding of statistics, deterministic optimization and simulation modeling techniques is required for data interpretation, manipulation and optimization.
- Excellent at MS Office applications and willingness and quick adaptability to learn new software
- Working knowledge of Matlab, Simulink, SolidWorks and/pr other analytical, statistical and simulation tools is a plus
- Excellent cognitive thinking, strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills with keen attention to detail
- Ability to show strong project management skills; demonstrate ability to strategize, prioritize and work on multiple tasks and meet timelines
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Must currently be enrolled at an accredited university pursuing a bachelors level or higher level degree in Engineering.
